Shampoos & Scalp Regimens
There are so many hair loss treatments for men on the market that it's almost impossible to keep up with all of them. This guide is for those men who are looking to evaluate a number of hair loss treatment options easily and quickly, but don't know where to start. This guide covers over 40 shampoos and scalp regimens to treat male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia).
As you review the brands and products below, you will notice that many products use the same ingredients, though most of the formulations are proprietary. Some common ingredients include:
- Natural Ingredients (botanicals, herbs, roots, oils, vitamins, etc., like saw palmetto and ginseng)
- Minoxidil
- Aminexil
- Copper Peptides
Most of the brands below state that their products are clinically proven to combat hair loss, and several go as far to say they are the only clinically proven product, yet only a handful actually publish the results of those studies. This reference guide will be updated as new products come to market, and if there are any products missing please comment.
My Recommendations
As I have sifted through a number of hair loss treatments, the following are my product recommendations.
Advanced, Drug-Based Regimens
- Rene Furterer (Triphasic Kit)
- Phyto (Phtyo Phytolium)

They are a hair care retailer and carry many of these products mentioned below. I recommend this site because not only because their product selection is one of the best on the web, but they've also got a tons of reviews on most of the products, and that's very helpful during the shopping process.
